That's Right!  We have been advised that we are now Preferred Provider for Cigna Radius!  So, not only do we partcipate with Delta Dental Premier plans, Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, we can now add Cigan Radius to our list.  I know that this might bring a couple of questions to light for a lot of people. So, please don't hesitate to ask. I can tell you that we do know of a couple of local businesses that have dental plans through Cigna Radius like; Simoniz USA, Inc, Charter Oak Health Center, United Rentals, Inc, Bayer Corp, Ruby Tuesday, Inc,  just to name a few. Please let others know this news. You never know if you know someone that isn't all that happy with their Dental Home, but are not aware of their options.

We are coming to the end of the year, and we have noticed that not all of our patients have taken advantage of their insurance benefits. I do have a couple of different thought paths on this.

For some of our patients this means that certian insurance plans state that each patient must have 2 cleaningscheck ups throughout the year to stay compliant with their plans. Not only will these patients not be taking advantage of their "free" cleaning, but in some cases will be fined for not doing so. So that is extra money coming out of your pocket.

For others there is the fact that some patients know that they have some work that needs to be done and have made a decision to not take care of it "right now". (Everyone has different reasons for this)   If you are someone that has insurance and has work to be done, take some time to see how much is left on your insurance "allowance" for the year.  You are paying every month to have that "allowance".  Why aren't using it? The chances that your insurance "allowance" will be getting bigger are pretty slim, but the dental work that needs to be done will. Our bodies are amazing feates of nature, but unfortunately they don't reverse our oral health without some ouside help. If you have insurance take advantage of the plan that you already pay for, because if you don't use it you will loose it.

Also, take a look into whether or not you have met your deductible on your plan. This is a fee that will be reset at the beginning of your plan year. For some it is as low as $25, but for others I have see them as high as $150. So, if you have met you deductible for the year, and you have some work that needs to be taken care of that is one less fee that you have to take into consideration.

If you have questions about your plan, please feel free to give us a call. We might not be able to answer your question at that moment but we are happy to help get you some answers.

Food for thought:  "There is no less costly or less painful time to do your dentistry than now"
