A: One way to start your search would be to check the membership directory of the American Dental Association, which you can examine on line or at many public libraries. Remember that depending on your insurance coverage, you may be limited in your choice. Ask your new neighbors and co-workers for recommendations. Check with your local hospital, particularly if it has an accredited dental service. Contact the local dental society.
If you have already established a relationship with a pharmacist, physician or some other health provider, ask them for recommendations. As part of your search consider the dentist's office location and hours. Are they convenient enough that they fit your needs? The research you do will be well worth it. Your dentist is a key figure in maintaining your overall health. You don't want to just settle for someone. On your first visit, you can pick up a lot of information. You should have the dentist's full attention and the dentist should make you feel comfortable with whatever questions you may have.
