Zoom! Professional in-office whitening, as seen on "Extreme Makeover," is a
one-hour whitening treatment that is safe, effective and very fast.
Patients can whiten their teeth up to eight shades in a single one-hour
session. The appointment begins with application of protective materials to
your lips and gums. Next we apply the light activated whitening gel to your
teeth. Within 45 minutes, your teeth will be markedly whiter.
Invisalign®:
Invisalign® offers many of the same benefits as traditional orthodontia
such as healthier gums and straighter teeth, as well as being removable and
invisible. The Invisalign aligners are clear plastic molded to perfectly fit
the shape of your teeth while gently moving them. The aligners are
removable for increased comfort while eating as well as improved access for
brushing and flossing which can improve dental hygiene.

Diagnodent:
A new way to detect cavities is being employed by Szafarek
Dental. The traditional method of detecting decay has
been to poke and probe with a sharp explorer. Cavities
are often hidden beneath the superficial grooves of the
teeth. Diagnodent is a simple diode laser used to inspect
your teeth. The reflection of the wavelength of the tooth
surface is compared to a known wavelength to uncover
decay. The laser is first applied to a healthy tooth
surface to get a baseline reading. The laser is then
applied to any suspicious areas of tooth structure where
it reflects fluorescent light of a specific wavelength.
Using the diagnodent is safe, painfree , and aids in
detecting decay early so minimally invasive repair techniques
can be used.
Oraverse
Szafarek Dental now offers a medication designed to speed
up the return to normal sensation and function, after
the use of novocaine. Many patients appreciate
the welcome numbness during a dental procedure but suffer
the side effects of the novocaine for anywhere from 1.5
hours to 5 hours. The use of Oraverse following
completion of the dental procedure can decrease the time
of side effects from 50 to 75%. It can be used
safely for patients older than six and weighing more
than 33 pounds.
